-
When can you host my Ribbon Cutting?
Ribbon Cuttings can be scheduled during business days (Monday – Friday) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Celebrations will be scheduled based on the Chamber’s program / event calendar and staff availability.
A 3-week advance notice to plan and coordinate your celebration is required to ensure time for planning and scheduling your celebration.
A maximum of 1 celebration will be scheduled per day and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
-
Who will you invite? How will you promote?
Once your celebration has been confirmed and payment has been received (if applicable), the Chamber will share an invitation internally with our Staff, Board of Directors and Ambassador Council. An invitation will also be extended to the City and County Clerks to invite a representative from each entity to the celebration.
Your celebration will be added to the event calendar on the Chamber’s website for fellow Investors to see, and shared on Facebook.
Remember, this is your celebration and your time to shine! We encourage you to also promote the event to your own networks, and invite friends, family, colleagues, clients, and customers to your celebration.
After the event, the Chamber will share photos from your celebration on Facebook.
-
How long does a Ribbon Cutting last? What can I expect?
Celebrations are approximately 15 – 30, minutes depending on length of remarks during the program. Chamber staff will arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your celebration for setup and to assist in greeting attendees.
We will begin the program promptly at the scheduled time of your event (ex: if your celebration starts at 10:00 a.m., we will begin our welcome remarks at 10:00 a.m.).
The program will include remarks from a Chamber Staff Member or Board Member. In addition, the Chamber will work with city / county clerks to invite a spokesperson from each entity to offer brief congratulatory remarks. Please note, we cannot guarantee a government representative will be available to attend. The business owner or representative then has an opportunity to share remarks. This is a great opportunity to share your story – consider sharing your businesses history, services, and future plans, introduce your team, etc.
After the remarks conclude, we will line up for the ceremonial ribbon cutting. We encourage our speakers to participate in this, as well as anyone the host would like to include.
We encourage you to invite attendees inside after the program to check out your space, offer tours, enjoy refreshments (optional – see below) and network with your team.
-
Should I provide refreshments?
It is not required to provide refreshments, although many businesses do choose to have light appetizers or beverages. If you choose to have refreshments, we encourage you to consider the time of day for your celebration and opt for something light.

What will the Chamber provide? What am I responsible for? Anything else I should consider before hosting?
The Chamber will provide: Sound system, Ribbon, Large Scissors, Copies of an agenda to pass out to attendees (speakers will be listed on the front, business logo and bio will be on the back)
Host business provides: Short bio of your business for the program, Parking / special instructions attendees should know prior to visiting, Name/title of contact who will speak on behalf of your business during the event, Light refreshments (optional).
Other Notes to consider: We encourage you to consider where you’d like the program and ceremonial ribbon cutting to take place (we always recommend in front of your office or by signage for photos). Depending on the layout of your business, you may want to consider blocking off a few parking spots if any are located directly in front of your business. This will ensure we don’t have any cars in the way of photos. We always hope to bring Chamber of Commerce weather with us, however a backup / rain plan for your celebration to move indoors is always good to think about if necessary.
Once you’ve reviewed our FAQ, submit your request through the form below:
Chamber staff will contact you to confirm the coordination of your celebration after receiving your form.
